Weekly Reflection #5

TWIG + Clickview

For the Pro-D seminars I went to “Introducing TWIG + ClickView 6-9 [#1]” hosted by Mike Silverton. Clickview is a site that has a curated collection of educational/instructional videos. They also now house the TWIG science and math content. I spent some time exploring the site at the end of the session and was able to find some good content there. The area they seem to have the most content for is definitely math and science, but they have quite a few socials and english videos as well.

English is one of my teachables and some of the videos that looked the most helpful were the ones on structures of writing. They also have a large collection (58 videos) about different classic books. I think they would be a great way to introduce a novel you were teaching to the class.

An area I think they could improve is their arts content. There were only a few videos for drama and I didn’t find them to be particularly that helpful. I think there are a wide range of topics that could be made into good instructional videos for drama, so hopefully their library in that field increases. Below is a video I found that could be the type of content they could include.
